Helen and I spent fifteen days in New Zealand (North Island) in October/November 2011. As well as doing the usual things that holiday-makers do there (well, apart from things like abseiling and bungee jumping!) I made an effort to see some of North Island's endemic landbirds, visiting Tiritiri Matangi Island amongst other places. Although I only saw 76 bird species in total on the holiday (about the same number that I would expect from a morning at RSPB Titchwell) I did find some special birds, as well as other wildlife. A small selection of my photographs can be seen in this gallery. To view the images properly, as a slide Show, click on the first image.
